September 21, 2021

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — September 21, 2021 — WellSky, a leading health and community care technology company, announced today that Seema Verma, the longest-serving administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in modern history, has joined the company’s board of directors. Verma’s vast experience creating national healthcare policies and developing technology standards will accelerate WellSky’s mission to transform care at every level.

WellSky is leading the movement to advance healthcare delivery by connecting the continuum of health and social care through technology, care management solutions, and analytics. Offering real-time connectivity and visibility, WellSky represents the most prevalent, connected network with 1,000+ hospitals and health systems, 110,000+ post-acute care providers, 250 Continuums of Care (CoCs), 300 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), and five million caregivers.

“Seema is a nationally recognized health policy expert equipped with a deep understanding of the complexities of the healthcare industry,” said Bill Miller, WellSky CEO. “With the addition of Seema to our board, WellSky and our clients gain a fierce advocate and thoughtful leader who will elevate and champion our vision to advance innovative solutions that arm providers, health systems, and payers with the tools to succeed in the world of value-based care.”

As administrator from 2017 to 2021, Verma was the architect of CMS’s strategic vision, implementing more than 16 initiatives aimed at transforming the American health care system to lower costs, improve quality, and increase access to care. She accelerated the value-based care transformation, backed new care models like acute hospital at home, and addressed the social determinants of health by advancing new payment models throughout CMS programs.

Additionally, Verma served on the White House COVID-19 Task Force, where she led efforts to drive telehealth and remote care across the healthcare system while creating flexibility for health providers to augment the healthcare workforce, expand services and testing, and ensure access to vaccines and therapeutics.

“WellSky is a leader in innovative healthcare delivery that enables payers and providers to achieve better outcomes at a lower cost,” said Verma. “WellSky’s extensive network and impressive portfolio of innovative care management solutions will change the way care is delivered and promote a more sustainable healthcare system. I look forward to working closely with the board and company leaders to further this mission.”

Verma also serves on the board of directors at Lumeris, LifeStance, and Monogram Health. She is a senior advisor to TPG, a leading global alternative asset firm and investor in WellSky. Before leading CMS, Verma founded and served as president and CEO of SVC, Inc., a health policy consultancy. She received a master’s of public health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in life sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
